In this guide learn how to:

As well as commenting on stories yourself, you can comment from a child's perspective. It is important to revisit stories with children, and helping a child to actively comment on their own stories is a great way to involve them.

You may want to write something the child has already said to you about this story, or you may want to dictate what a child says while they sit next to you looking at the story.

Note: Both admin and non-admin educators can comment on a story as a child, in addition to admin and non-admin family members - in both instances, this can only be done when using the web version of Storypark.

From the website version of Storypark, open any story and click in the comment box. On your ‘Latest activity’ or ‘home’ page you can comment in the box beneath the story preview.

On any ‘Stories’ page, where stories appear as ‘tiles’, click the tile and the full story view will open in a box in front of the page. Here you can make comments in the area to the right of the story.

Comment on a story from a child's perspective using text

Open the story you wish to comment on and click in the text field where it says ‘Respond to this story…’.

Click your profile image above the text field and a menu will show all the children that are part of the story.

Select the child whose perspective you wish to share:

When you click the ‘Post’ button the comment will be published and shown as coming from that child.

Comment on a story from a child's perspective using recorded audio

This works best using the Storypark for Teachers iOS app or Android app as you can record comments directly using your device’s inbuilt microphone. But if you wish to comment by audio on a computer you can follow the steps below.

Open the story you wish to comment on and click in the text field where it says ‘Respond to this story…’.

Click your profile image above the text field and a drop-down menu will show all the children that are part of the story.

Select the child whose perspective you wish to share.

Click the microphone symbol and a pop-up window will appear, this will show you what files you have saved on your computer.

Find and select the audio file you wish to upload (it must be an MP3 or an M4A file) on your computer’s hard-drive and click ‘Open’ and wait for the file to finish loading.

Once the file has finished uploading, click the ‘Post’ button. The comment will be published and shown as coming from that child.
