Spell check and grammar

Check your spelling and grammar as you write in Storypark, without leaving the editor

Storypark can check your writing for spelling and grammar while you work, so you can document with confidence and spend less time reviewing. It's one of the writing tools, and you'll find it behind the A icon in the editing toolbar.

Check your spelling and grammar

  1. Highlight the text you want to check. To check a whole story or post, don't highlight anything.

  2. Tap the A icon in the editing toolbar and choose Fix spelling and grammar.

  3. Review the suggested changes.

  4. Tap Accept on a change to apply it, or Discard to keep what you had. To deal with everything at once, tap Accept all or Discard all.

Nothing changes until you accept it, and if you apply something by mistake, you can tap Undo in the editor.

Spelling and grammar checking currently works in English. If your text mixes English with another language, highlight the English parts rather than checking all the text.

Where you can use it

Spelling and grammar checking is available in stories, community posts, child notes, and responses to stories, community posts and child notes.

In responses, writing tools cover spelling and grammar and are available to educators when accessing Storypark through a web browser. Families don't have writing tools.

If you can't see the writing tools icon

Whether your service has writing tools depends on your subscription and any add-ons you have, and an admin at your service can disable writing tools.

For what's included and how to turn writing tools off and on, see Educators: Writing tools.

If you don't have writing tools, most web browsers underline misspelled words as you type, so obvious typos will still show up as you write.
