What are learning trend reports?
Learning trends allow you to select a time period that you’re interested in, select a child or a group of children, and choose the learning tags that you wish to review for that child/ren over the time period.
This will enable you to:
See how much you’ve been focused on different aspects of the learning sets you use, eg. values, philosophies or curriculum. Perhaps you’ve been focusing a lot in one area, or perhaps there’s been no record of learning in a particular area of interest.
See what learning tags have been used in a particular timeframe and highlight new tags that have recently featured.
See proportionately how many times you've tagged one aspect of learning for one child versus another, or a group of children.
You’ll immediately be able to observe differences/similarities to inform your planning and programme design for individuals or groups at your service.
Use learning trends to inform staff meetings and group planning sessions, or for relieving teachers and part time staff so they can understand more about each child’s learning.
What are teaching trend reports?
Teaching trends allow Storypark Admins to select a time period that they're interested in, select an educator or a group of educators, and choose the learning tags they wish to review for those educators over the time period.
This will enable Admins to:
See how much educators have been focused on different aspects of the learning sets you use, eg. values, philosophies or curriculum. Perhaps you’ve been focusing a lot in one area, or perhaps there’s been no record of learning in a particular area of interest.
See what learning tags have been used in a particular timeframe and highlight new tags that have recently featured.
See proportionately how many times educators have tagged one aspect of learning vs others.
Admins will immediately be able to observe differences/similarities to inform your planning and programme design for individuals or groups at your service.
Create a learning or teaching trend report
Reports are currently available to view and create from the Storypark website on any device.
To create a report, select your service’s Reports tab:
Educators or children
For children's learning trends select Learning trends or for reporting on educators' use of learning sets/tags select Teaching trends:
Permissions note: Teaching trend and teacher activity reports are only available to Storypark Admins. Non-Admins will only see the option to select learning trend, children activity and routine export reports.
Select a date range
Select the time period you want to compare data for by tapping on the date field and selecting a date range:
Custom date range
Tap Custom range, select a start date from the box on the left, and an end date from the box on the right. Tap Apply when ready:
Select a learning set or folder
Tap the All learning tags drop down filter.
- Selecting All learning tags will produce a report of all learning tags in use during the date range.
- Selecting a specific set will filter the data by the tags in that learning set.
Select children or educators
If creating a Learning trends report, select the All children drop down filter.
Then, select the children or educators you want to filter the report data by. By default everyone will be selected (highlighted in blue). Tap a child or educator's name to deselect them:
Groups of children can further be refined by room, or gender. Educators by room (if they have been added to one) only. Tap the drop down filter on the left of the selection box. For example:
Display graphs with tags, folders or sets
Toggle between learning tags, folders and sets to see filter the data displayed:
Split view
Select Split view, to compare two data sets:
For example you might like to look at a child’s learning over the last three months vs the three months before that or the same time last year. Or, you might want to look at what learning is happening for boys vs girls, one child vs a group of children, or one group vs another.
You’ll immediately be able to observe differences/similarities to inform your planning and programme design for individuals or the group of children at your early learning service.

To export your data as a PDF to save to a hard drive and/or print, select Export to PDF:
