What is the manager check-in widget?
The manager check-in widget is located on your portfolio homepage and allows you to send your manager a quick message. You can use the widget to ask for feedback, organise a catchup or check how things are going.
It's a quick and easy way to communicate and send and receive new messages. Not to mention it's a lot less tricky than trying to have a conversation or ask a question when you are both busy working with the children!
Who can send and see a check-in message
Check-in messages can be sent between you and any assigned manager on your portfolio. For independent centres, this means you can check-in with any admin contributor and for network centres, any manager, direct manager or network admin.
To add a new manager to your portfolio, ask your management as only managers can assign new managers.
Messages sent using the manager check-in are private between you and your manager. If you have multiple managers, you can switch between conversations with each manager by clicking their face below the widget title. Each manager can only see the conversations between you and them.
Messages sent with the manager check-in widget can't be edited or deleted
How to send a check-in message
To send a check-in message as a manager:
As manager, you may have managers of your own you'd like to talk to using the check-in tool hence why your homepage check-in widget will work the same as portfolio owners.
To send a message to your manager, visit your homepage and select the face of a manager you would like to check-in with. Start typing in the bar at the bottom and press 'enter' on your keyboard to send the message.
To send a message to someone you support as their manager, visit the portfolio owner's homepage. You can find their homepage using your team dashboard, or your centre's teacher page. Note: you will only be able to respond to and read the conversation between you and the portfolio owner when you visit their page, you cannot find check-in messages between you and someone you support on your own check-in widget on your homepage.
To send a check-in message as a portfolio owner:
To send a message to your manager, visit your homepage and select the face of a manager you would like to check-in with. Start typing in the bar at the bottom and press 'enter' on your keyboard to send the message.
To send a message to a different manager, simply click their face and start typing in a separate conversation.
