What are conversations on Storypark?

Conversations are private messages you can have with other educators and/or parents in your learning community. Conversations are available in both the basic and premium Storypark versions, this article will cover how conversations can be used in the context of Educator Portfolios specifically. Find help regarding all other uses for conversations in Storypark here.

You can choose who you wish to have a conversation with, send them a message and communicate back and forth over time.

When would I use conversations?

Conversations are simply a private space for you to speak with your educators and parents and can be used in any way you find value. A few ways you may like to use the feature include:

  • Send readings, links and articles to your team

  • Help newly qualified teachers share personal reflections one to one with mentor teachers

  • After conferences, discuss new ideas and research with your team

  • Plan events and celebrations with attached spreadsheets

  • Handle procedure reviews by selecting parents, sharing documents and getting their feedback

  • Share ideas, support your peers, discuss particular children

  • Build your strategic teaching and learning plan by enabling focus groups to share documents and have ongoing conversations on specific areas

  • Share videos you found interesting or inspirational of talks and topics you find on the web, eg. YouTube, or TED

When might I use conversations for my Educator Portfolio?

You may use conversations in the context of Educator Portfolios for a mentor-mentee conversation about planning your next one-on-one meeting or for an all-contributor conversation about planning a project, inquiry or review.

You can also contribute to an existing conversation by tapping in the text field that says 'write a comment'. Add your text, along with any images, and tap 'post'.

Contributors can start conversations with the people they support, as well as contributing to existing threads.
