Admin educators can create new learning sets and manage existing learning sets and tags for their service.

To view your service's Learning sets page from the Storypark website, tap on the Learning sets tab:

Note: Non-admin educators can access a read only-view of the Learning sets page.

There are three ways admin educators can create and add new learning sets for a service:

Within each learning set you create or select, you can:

Note: Any changes you make to a learning set will only be reflected at your service.

Create a new learning set

If the default, or Storypark learning sets don’t meet your service’s needs, admin educators can create new learning sets:

1. In the top left box titled Our learning sets, tap the + New button:

2. In the pop-up window, give your new learning set a name and save it, so it can be used at your service.

3. You can then add the relevant folders and tags for your new learning set.

Select an existing Storypark learning set

Storypark learning sets are created by Storypark in consultation with regional education specialists and with permission from the original authors. Examples might include a country’s or state’s curriculum (eg. Te Whāriki, Early Years, International Baccalaureate etc).

If you see a learning set within the Learning set library that would suit your service, you can add it to your Learning sets.

1. In the Learning set library, select the learning set you’d like to add to your service:

2. The set will appear in the middle of the screen, so you can review the folders and tags before adding it to your service.

3. To the right of the set name click Copy to our learning sets:

4. A copy of the Storypark Learning set you have selected will now appear in the Our learning sets box, and the tags within it can be applied whenever you write a story or plan.

Note: This is simply a copy of the original Storypark learning set so if you edit or delete it, it will only alter your copy, not the original Storypark learning set.

If you don’t see the curriculum or set of learning outcomes you’re looking for you can search for it:

In the Learning set library tap Search:

In the text field begin typing the name you’re looking for. If the set you’re looking for exists as a Storypark learning set, it will show up here:

Adapt a Storypark learning set to your needs

You can use a Storypark learning set right out of the box, or an admin educator can adapt one to suit the cultural or individual needs of the early learning service.

2. Select the learning set you want to adapt from the Our learning sets box - the learning sets listed in this box are private to your service and can be removed or adapted as you see fit.

This is simply a copy of the original Storypark learning set so if you edit or delete it, it will only alter your copy, not the original Storypark learning set.

3. You can rename the learning set by clicking the Edit button in the top right corner:

From here, admin educators can further edit, move and manage the folders and tags within the services copy of the Storypark learning set.

Create a new folder

Admin educators can create folders within any service's existing learning sets:

1. Click on any of your learning sets in the Our learning sets box.

2. To add a new folder click the New folder button, and in the pop-up window give your folder a name:

3. Click the Folder field and a drop-down menu will appear which lets you file the folder where you wish. You can add the new folder to the learning set, or as a sub-folder within other folders in the learning set that you are editing:

4. Now, when writing a story in the story editor you can click on Add tag in the right-hand panel and you’ll see a list of all your sets and the folders within them:

Create a new learning tag

Admin educators can create new learning tags within any of your service's existing learning sets:

1. Click on any of your learning sets in the Our learning sets box.

2. To add a new learning tag click the New tag button, and in the pop-up window give your tag a name:

3. In the Tag description field you can type a short optional description explaining what this tag means. The description could include a link to a website page if you want to explain the concept further; simply copy and paste the website address into the description field making sure you include ‘www.’ This description will be visible to educators and families if they click on a tag in a story.

4. Click the Set/folder field and a drop-down menu will appear which lets you file the tag in any folder you wish.

Now, when writing a story in the story editor you can click on Add tag in the right-hand panel and you’ll see a list of all your sets and the folders within them. Select the set and folder where you filed your tag and you’ll see your new tag.

Note: If you have created a folder within your learning set already, you can also add a new tag immediately within that folder by clicking the three dots to the right of the folder name and selecting Add new tag from the drop-down menu
