Inviting family members
Only admin family members (including the parents who signed up or accepted the invitations from their child’s early learning service, and any other family members they’ve made an admin) can invite other family members to a child’s profile.
This ensures parents approve of everyone who has access to their child’s profile. Learn more about admin family members here.
Inviting family members to your child’s Storypark profile is quick and easy:
Log into your account on www.storypark.com.
Once logged in, open up the Menu from the top left-hand corner.
Select your child's name from the Menu, and select Family.
Select Invite family.
A pop-up window will appear containing an invitation form:
Enter the email address of the person you are inviting, and if you'd like, add a custom message.
If you have multiple children, choose which children's profiles you want this person to be connected to.
Choose whether this person should be an admin of the corresponding child profile or not. Admins have access to day-to-day management features in Storypark so generally, only the child's other parent or another primary caregiver such as your partner should be given Admin rights. it is not needed for other family members. Learn more about Admin rights here.
Once you have completed the form, click Invite to send the invitation.
What happens when you click Invite?
Once the email is sent you’ll see am Invitation pending label beneath their name on your Family page:
The invited family member will receive an email invitation that includes a link for them to accept the invitation.
If the invited family member already has a Storypark account under the same email address you invited them on, they will be taken to the Storypark login page. Once they log in, they will be able to see the child profile which they have been invited to.
If they are new to Storypark, they will be taken to a simple sign up page where they can enter their details to create their account:
When they have finished signing up and accepted the invitation, the Invitation pending label next to their name will be gone.
You can give any family members who haven’t yet accepted your invite a gentle reminder by finding someone with a Invitation pending label, and clicking Resend:
Inviting specialists
Besides family members, you may want to involve other experts to help support your child’s learning. These may include speech-language therapists, teacher aides or other experts and specialists. It’s your choice what level of access you give them and for how long.
In Storypark, specialists are treated like family members. To invite a specialist simply follow the above steps, as if you were inviting a family member.
You may choose to invite specialists who you know and trust to have ‘Admin’ access over your child's account. This would enable them to see all the stories and comments that are created and also share their own observations with you in your child's private Notes area.
Specialists can also be invited to Storypark without admin rights. However, this means they can’t participate in your child's private Notes area; only view, create and comment on learning stories.
You can remove people from your child's Storypark account whenever you feel it is appropriate to do so.
Removing family members or specialists
Only admin family members have the ability to remove others.
To remove a family member of a specialist, go to your child's profile page and click the Family tab:
Find the family member you wish to remove and in the top right corner of their profile tile, click the small arrow.
From the drop-down menu, you can select Remove as admin to remove admin access to the child profile (making them a non-admin family member), or select Remove to remove them from accessing the child profile completely.
