Connecting your Xap account
If your child's centre uses Xap alongside Storypark, and they've turned the integration on, you can link your Xap account to the Storypark for Families app.
You'll then be able to manage bookings, payments and your family's records – without switching apps.
To connect:
Open the Storypark for Families app and go to the Admin section.
Tap Connect your Xap account.
You'll be taken to Xap's secure sign-in screen. Storypark never sees or stores your Xap password.
Once you've signed in, you'll be returned to the app with your account connected.
Note: You'll need your existing Xap login details to connect. If you don't have Xap login details yet, please check with your centre.
What connecting unlocks
Once your Xap account is connected, the Admin section gives you access to:
Bookings – view upcoming and past bookings, request casual bookings, and record absences.
Payments – view invoices and statements, and pay from within the app.
Family records – view your child's details, guardians, emergency contacts and authorisations.
These sit alongside your existing Storypark experience – stories, moments, community and everything else in the app stays exactly where it is.
Reconnecting if your session lapses
Occasionally your Xap connection may need refreshing – for example, if you haven't opened the app in a while. If this happens, you'll see a prompt to reconnect next time you open the Admin section. Reconnecting takes the same few steps as connecting for the first time.
Disconnecting your account
You can disconnect your Xap account at any time from the Admin section settings. Disconnecting removes access to bookings, payments and family records in the app until you reconnect – it doesn't affect your Xap account itself, or anything in Storypark unrelated to Xap.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Xap account to use Storypark?
No. Xap connection is only relevant if your child's centre uses Xap for bookings, billing or family records. If they don't, you won't see the Admin section and Storypark works exactly as it always has.
Is my Xap password shared with Storypark?
No. You sign in directly with Xap through your device's browser – Storypark never sees or stores your Xap password.
I connected but don't see bookings or payments – why?
Some centres may only have certain Xap features enabled. Check with your centre if a feature you expect to see isn't there.
What happens to my data if I disconnect?
Disconnecting only removes the app's access to your Xap data – your records in Xap are unaffected. You can reconnect at any time.
