Joining early access allows services to try new features or updates within Storypark before they’re available more widely. While in early access, these features may still be evolving, and could change.
Where early access features relate to a paid add-on, only those services currently subscribed to the add-on will be offered access.
Note: This is currently only available to single site services. If your service belongs to an organisation that has more than one service using Storypark you may be unable to join.
Joining and managing early access
Early access can only be managed by a service's Storypark Admin(s) who can change their service's settings at any time.
When enabled, if there are early access features currently available, all educators at the service will be able to see and use them.
As new features enter early access, Admins may be prompted to consider enabling this for their service via a pop-up window on the website (similar to the one pictured):
Selecting Enable early access will turn on early access (and any available features) automatically for all educators at the service. It also gives the service automatic access to any upcoming early access features as soon as they are ready.
Not now dismisses this window and it will not be shown again to the Admin who is logged in. Note: It does not override the notification for any other Admins at the service.
Remind me later temporarily pauses this notification and unless the service enables early access, this pop-up window will be shown again at a later stage.
Admins can also manage their service's early access settings from the edit page. From here they can be turned off as a whole or individually:
Common questions
Q. Will Storypark contact us about early access feedback?
If your service is part of early access, we’ll mainly communicate with you within Storypark and via occasional emails. These updates will support your use of the features, explaining what’s available, and where you can share feedback if you choose to. There’s no requirement to respond to every message - only share feedback and thoughts if you'd like to.
Q. Can our service retain early access without X feature?
Yes. Admins can turn off individual early access features for their service from the edit page. Bear in mind that early access features will make their way to wider availability at which time, your service may be unable to completely opt out of access (although you do not have to use the features).
Q. Why hasn't my service been invited to early access at this time?
It may be that your service is part of a multi-site organisation (early access is currently only able to single sites) or the early access features that are currently available may be related to current paid add-on features which your service is not subscribed to.
